The Haradrim™ live in Harad, literally "south", the name given by the Men of Gondor to lands that lie to their south past the river Harnen. They belong to more than one culture; "Haradrim" being merely a Gondorian generic description of any of the men that came from south of their borders. They are a collection of proud and warlike races.

Celebrimbor plays an important role as the maker of the Rings of Power under the guidance of Annatar, a fair guise of Sauron, also known as 'Lord of Gifts'. But secretly, without Annatar's knowledge, Celebrimbor created the three Rings of the Elves, the greatest and fairest of the Rings of Power. These rings were thus free of Annatar's corrupting influence.

The Lossoth or Snowmen of were few in number and dwelt on the shores of the Ice bay of Forochel, beyond the northern borders of ancient Arnor. Their clothing was made from animal skins and would have been highly decorated with abstract patterns and borders. Their headwear, which was probably made of a thick felt, would also have been decorated.

The Haradrim were a fierce warrior people who lived in the hot desert areas of Southern Middle-earth. They were the perennial foes of Gondor and the land of Harondor; their common frontier was a scene of almost continual strife. They were ready allies of the Dark Lord in the war of the Ring and contributed much of his most effective forces. There is also a Gondorian spearman defending against the Haradrim Champion.
