The Vengeance of Smaug Lord of the Rings painted 32mm scale figureThe Dwarven kingdom of Thror, delved in the Lonely mountain at the headwaters of the Celduin was famous for its fabulous wealth, so famous that rumour of it reached even to the Withered heath and the ears of Smaug the golden, a mighty Fire-dragon whose heart burned at the thought of untold treasure.

The Balrog of Moria Lord of the Rings painted 32mm scale figureHidden in the deepest roots of the mountains the Balrog remained for almost two ages of Middle-earth, until the delvings of the dwarves of Moria penetrated his caverns. The Balrog awoke and destroyed Moria, and killed or scattered it’s inhabitants. When the Fellowship passed through Moria, the Balrog was once again disturbed and became locked in a terrible struggle to the death with Gandalf the grey on the bridge of Kazad-dum.

Smaug The Dragon, Bilbo & treasures Lord of the Rings painted 32mm scale figureSmaug the golden, greatest of the Fire-Dragons with Bilbo the reluctant burglar, who crept nervously into the dragon’s lair. Smaug had become complacent considering himself invunerable. For the little Hobbit this was the greatest and most terrifying moment of his life: to talk to the Dragon, to learn his secret and to escape with his life!

Scatha the Worm Lord of the Rings painted 32mm scale figureScatha is one of the older dragons of ages gone by. Perched on a rocky mountain-top he is master of all he survays and is confident is his power and invulernability. This creature existed before the Lord of the Rings trilogy or even the Hobbit. He was feared and one of the most dangerous of the dragons from before the Third age of Middle Earth.

Saruman Lord of the Rings painted 54mm figureSaruman was chief of the Istari or order of wizards in Middle-earth. He was also to become head of the White Council that was formed in response to the re-emergence of Sauron in the world. Gradually however, the wizard's love of power led him to to believe that he should find the One Ring for himself. He turned Isengard into a great fortress and recruited Dunlendings and orcs into his service. His plans were thwarted; at Helms deep his armys fought the Rohirrim whilst Ents put paid to his schemes at Orthanc.

Merry Lord of the Rings painted 54mm figure Meriadoc Brandybuck, known as Merry, was one of the hobbits amongst the Ring Companions. In the course of his adventures he became a friend to the Ent folk and later became esquire to Theoden the king of Rohan. His closest companion was Pippin. He also aided Eowyn when she faced and killed the Witch King - a lord of the Nazgul.

Lord of the Nazgul Lord of the Rings painted 32mm scale figureSauron’s mightiest lieutenant, the Lord of the Nazgul, commanded the Morgul host at the battle of the Pelennor field. He rode a reptilian fell-beast, upon which he sought out and slew king Theoden of the Mark. Theoden’s niece Eowyn, the Shield-maiden of Rohan, determined to avenge the king and challenged the wraith-lord. By a great stroke of luck, in which Merriadoc had no small part, she slew the Lord of the Nazgűl. It was a pivotal moment of the battle which ended in the victory of the free peoples.

Gollum and Bilbo Lord of the Rings painted 54mm figure This is Bilbo and Gollum after Bilbo has escaped from the orcs, but has got lost in their caves. Shortly after Bilbo finds the One Ring, Gollum and Bilbo meet for the first time. Gollum decides to challenge Bilbo to a riddle competition if Bilbo wins Gollum shows him the way out of the caves, if Bilbo loses Gollum has him for lunch! Bilbo survives and in time gives the ring to Frodo, his nephew before leaving for Rivendell. Bilbo also gave Frodo the elven sword 'Sting' and a mithril chainmail shirt as parting gifts.

Gildor Inglorion Lord of the Rings painted 54mm figure Gildor Inglorion, When Frodo and his companions were nearly discovered by a black rider, a group of elves approached on their way to the Grey Havens and scared the creature away. They then gave shelter to the hobbits for the night. The leader of the group was Gildor.

Gandalf Grey Wizard Lord of the Rings painted 54mm figureGandalf the Grey, the wandering wizard, called Mithrandir by the Elves, was well known amongst the peoples of Middle Earth. His great task was to oppose the evil of Sauron. He carried Narya, the Ring of fire.

Gandalf was involved in 'The Hobbit' book as well as the better know 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy.

Galadriel Lord of the Rings painted 54mm Elven figureGaladriel was the Lady of Lothlorien, the mysterious and beautiful woodland realm of the Elves, warded from hurt by the ring she bore, Nenya, the ring of water, one of the Three. In Lothlorien the Companions found refuge and healing, and help for their quest.

Fire Dragon Lord of the Rings painted 32mm scale figureFire-breathing dragons were a terrible race first spawned during the First age of middle-earth. Although themselves flightless they are the ancestors of all fire-breathing worms including the great winged dragons like Smaug the golden (also available). The most famous of the flightless fire dragons in the First age was Glaurung, father of fire-dragons, who was unleashed during the wars in Beleriand. The Fire Dragon usually possess great intelligence and cunning and versed in the subtle reptilian magic.

Cold Drake Lord of the Rings painted 32mm scale figureCold-drakes are amongst the oldest breeds of Dragon in Middle-earth and like all others are extremely scarce by the end of the Third-age. The earliest of the Dragons first apeared in the dim past of the First-age and were a manifestation of Morgoth's hatred for the works of the Valar.The first of the dragons were flightless and had no fiery breath. Over the ages some evolved differently, developing the ability to breath fire as in the the case of Glaurung, whose descendents included true Fire-dragons who could both breath fire and fly, such as Scatha and Smaug (also available).

Boromir Lord of the Rings painted 54mm figureBoromir was the elder son of Denethor, the Ruling Steward of Gondor. A proud and noble warrior, he came to Rivendell seeking counsel, to understand words that had come to himself and his brother Faramir in dreams, and so became one of the Ring Companions. He was never to return to Gondor as he was killed by orc arrows on the way south, while defending Merry and Pippin.

 Grima Wormtongue Lord of the Rings painted 54mm figure Grima WormTongue, Agent of Saruman. As councillor of Theoden, he manipulated Theoden into believing he (Theoden) was powerless against Mordor and that Saruman was an ally. Eventually turned on his master, Saruman, while in The Shire, and was killed by hobbit arrows at Bag-End.
