Creatures

Mithril has produced many of the exciting creatures that inhabit the mysterious land of Middle-earth. These include Dragons, Balrogs, Werewolves, Mumakil, Stone Giants as well as many more strange beings.

Oliphaunts (mumakil) were grey with trunks and tusks and big flapping ears. Oliphaunts came from Harad, in the far south of Middle-earth. The Haradrim used Oliphaunts in battle and put houses and towers on their backs to carry Men.

Balrogs are demons of shadow and flame. Balrogs were creatures of great power and terror. Their fundamental form appeared to be that of a man of great stature, but they were cloaked in shifting shadows and they had fiery cores. Balrogs belonged to the order of the Maiar - the servants of the Valar. The Balrogs were originally spirits of fire that were corrupted by Morgoth in the beginning. The Balrog that attacked the Fellowship in the Mines of Moria may have been the last of its kind in Middle-earth.

Stone Giants: The only known reference to them occurs in The Hobbit, in which Bilbo and the Dwarves encounter them as they cross the Misty Mountains. During a storm, the Stone-giants emerge, and cast huge boulders about a rocky valley as part of a bizarre game.

The larger creatures are available in Box Sets, which require assembly.

Collect them all today and populate your collection with some of the most powerful and unusual creatures ever imagined.
