David Daines

Photos of a collection of Mithril Miniatures painted by David Daines.
David Daines - The Great GoblinThe little raised platform is by Grendel Miniatures and was originally earmarked for something else, but I thought it would make for a nice base for The GG.

This was also a good opportunity to use the three goblin imps who are prodding, poking and threatening the bound up Thorin Oakenshield.

It was also a good opportunity to use M452, Orc Animist, who is screaming with range and pointing to Orchrist as it lays on the steps, and also M95 Saviga the king’s consort who though listed as a half-orc suited my purpose and finds a home at last.

The rock back-drop is a plaster casting from Woodland Scenics. Orcrist by the way has been ‘stolen’ from the GF Ingold figure.

David Daines - Swan-Ship of Dol AmrothThe ship is a 1 72nd scale Crusader Cog from Zvezda models which works well with the Mithril scale and is a very nicely detailed model.

The figures are Mithril's Lossarnach figures and figures from the Gondorian Warband release, with a couple of other figures added.

In time I will add some sailors (probably from the Corsairs range) and some shields hanging off of the wooden panels, but as the project is about 98% complete and I am having some technical difficulties with the shields, I thought you may be interested in wprk so far.

The original sail design is not my own and I am not sure who designed it so I cannot credit the artist, but it fitted a Dol-Amroth style in my opinion.
