A scout is one who is trained at ambush , tracking and moving in silence. The Hobbits, with their innate abilities to move quietly and avoid detection are therefore ideally suited to this profession. This scout carries a bow, again an ideal weapon for one whose physical strength is not great but who can strike at her enemies from cover and then melt away into the background.
