Mithril Miniatures - Introduction 2

- Introduction to the Mithril range.

Mithril was founded in 1987 and has been dedicated since then to the creation of miniature figures, inspired by Middle-earth as portrayed by J.R.R. Tolkien in his books, 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings'. It has been our intention to faithfully recreate the characters from these works and imbue the miniatures as much as possible with the atmosphere and feel of Middle-earth.

To this end much painstaking research has gone into this range, both in costume and character appearance, so as to make and retain an authentic and consistent feel to the figures and above all to remain true to Tolkien's original vision of his strange and magical world.

The Mithril Classics series represent key personalities and generic types selected from Mithrills huge range of over 500 Middle-earths subjects. The LO and LT series are produced in an unlimited run. The LR series were produced in a limited edition of 2500 of each, when they are sold they are not produced again. The M series of miniatures were produced on a rolling basis. As new series were released, older series were retired. The Classics series is the core range which is continuously produced, and means that the most important figures like Gandalf, Bilbo and Aragorn are always available to the collector.

The "M" series and the Classics series are supplied undercoated ready to paint. The "LR", "LO" & "LT" series are supplied without undercoat to allow the finishing and assembling the figure to be completed before undercoating.

The second version is a Price list specially for Mithril. (302KB) This list is without LR, LT, MC and MCD and all the M- figurines that still be purchased from Mithril. They are without price and marked "Mithril". Dated 2006

An average human male measures 32mm in the Mithril scale. So therefore a scale foot measures 5.5mm. Sizes of all Mithril figures can be gauged by this scale.
