When the first half of the heat proof master mould has set, the outside wall of plasticene is then removed leaving the first half of the master mould and the plasticene with the milliput figures remaining. The plasticene is then carefully removed leaving the figures, ingate and galleries remaining in the rubber. The first half of the mould and its contents are then painstakingly cleaned and covered with a release agent to aid separation of the two halves.
A wall of plasticene is then added to the first half. The rubber is poured for the second half of the mould and then left to set for five hours.
The plasticene is removed from the outside of the mould. The mould is then trimmed square.
Finally, the mould is hand cleaned to remove any parts of the milliput master that may have become dislodged in the mould making. The finished mould is ready for casting the master figures to create the spin casting moulds.
